St. Petersburg

KEMPINSKI HOTEL MOIKA 22 ***** ST.PETERSBURG
This newly opened hotel (July 2005) certainly offers one of the best locations in the very heart of St. Petersburg, on the bank of the Moika River and right opposite the Hermitage and Dvortsovaya square. The original façade of the hotel’s building was designed by Dutch engineer Basil von Witte in the middle of the 19th century. It has been faithfully retained while the building has been entirely reconstructed. The hotel is just two minutes’ walk from Nevsky Prospect, close to all major sites and shopping centres.
There are 188 rooms and suites. The ground floor bar overlooks the Hermitage and the restaurant on the roof terrace gives spectacular views over the city centre and the nearby Cathedral of the Savior-on-the-Blood. The hotel features two interior glass-covered courtyards and a fitness centre is planned on the second roof terrace. Like other Kempinski hotels, Moika 22 offers luxurious interiors, comfortable rooms and great service. Rooms are equipped with a writing desk, high speed internet access, 2-line telephone, minibar, LCD TV, heated bathroom flooring, shower cabin, bathrobes and bath amenities.

CORINTHIA NEVSKIJ PALACE Hotel ***** ST.PETERSBURG
The Nevskij Palace Hotel is located in the heart of the historical, business and shopping areas of St. Petersburg within walking distance to the main museums, theatres and cathedrals. It is comprised of two historic nineteenth century buildings with a classic façade restored to its original splendour. With its completely renovated interiors and spacious, elegant rooms, the Nevskij Palace offers fine modern comfort. There are five restaurants, which are among the best in the city. Their Sunday brunch is legendary. The hotel offers the best conference facilities in the centre; the largest conference hall can hold up to 200 people.
The complete reconstruction of the hotel finished in 1993. Regular upgrades and renovation works ensure that the hotel always looks as it had been opened just a few days ago. There are 283 deluxe rooms, including 30 suites and 15 smart rooms. All rooms are equipped with direct-dial telephone and voice-mail, satellite television, WiFi Internet, central air-conditioning with individual regulation, safe, mini-bar and hairdryer. Smart rooms are designed especially for the business traveller. They are similar to the standard rooms but are additionally equipped with mini-office facilities, including a desk, a fax machine, a functional lamp, a printer  which can be plugged into a notebook computer and an ergonomic office chair

THE FIFTH CORNER BUSINESS HOTEL
(Piaty Ugol) ***+		 ST.PETERSBURG
The newly opened modern hotel occupies a 19th century building located in a famous square in the heart of St. Petersburg known as “five corners”. This area is the home of Dostoevsky’s novels, typical St. Petersburg of the 19th century. Retaining the classical façade of the historical building, the interior was completely rebuilt to offer modern facilities and comfortable accommodation. All guest rooms overlook the square’s historical buildings, some of which were home to Dostoevsky’s main characters. The hotel itself is conveniently located, very close to the historical and business centre of the city. It is a good choice for travellers looking for comfort and hospitality at reasonable prices
All 30 rooms of the Fifth Corner Hotel are spacious (starting from 21 square meters), designed and equipped with modern furniture according to European standards. KRISTOFF Hotel ***+
A huge number of mini-hotels or pensions recently appeared in St. Petersburg, offering an interesting alternative to big Soviet era hotels. Kristoff is one of them, which opened in 2004. It is located next door to the Piaty Ugol, also in an old historical building. The hotel brings a comfortable home atmosphere and its friendly personnel will try to satisfy all needs of the guests.
The hotel offers 15 spacious rooms, well furnished and designed in classical style. All rooms are equipped with individual air-conditioning, minibar, satellite TV, direct-dial phone, wireless WiFi Internet connection and hairdryer. The Kristoff provides 24-hour security, luggage room and safety deposit boxes are available at reception. Continental breakfast is served at the restaurant.

VESTA Hotel ***+ ST.PETERSBURG
A nice and cosy B&B hotel located in the very centre, in a quiet courtyard right off Nevsky prospect with a caring customer-orientated approach. Convenient location in the very heart of the city makes most places of interest, shops and restaurants accessible by foot. The Vesta hotel offers very decent rooms at very decent rates.
All 17 rooms are equipped according to European standards. Designed in pastel colour with windows overlooking the quiet yard, the hotel rooms are good for work and leisure. Each room has satellite TV, with individually regulated air-conditioning, phone, private facilities and shower. Internet can be accessed in every room by dial-up connection through the telephone line. There is a well-equipped small conference room for 8-10 people. A continental breakfast is served in the nice lobby-café. There are 3 floors in the hotel, but no elevator.

CITY HOTEL COMFITEL *** ST.PETERSBURG
Opened only in 2005, this new city hotel certainly has everything needed for leisure and business travel. Housing a typical old style building with large windows and high ceilings the hotel offers good modern comfort at very moderate prices. Although it is not located in the very core of the city, it is still quite close to the historical centre which is easily accessible. Its proximity to Liden & Denz Language centre makes it a nice option for our students. 
The hotel features 33 rooms. On the ground floor there is a small nice restaurant & bar, reception and beauty shop. Every room has private facilities, hairdryer, TV, telephone, free access to the Internet. Safe cells are available at the reception. The hotel also has parking space and round-the-clock security. There are 4 floors but no elevator.

HOTELS ON NEVSKY B&B chain *** ST.PETERSBURG
Hotels on Nevsky comprise four mini-hotels on and around Nevsky prospect, with the central office and hotel located near the Vesta Hotel. Although the hotels are situated in historical buildings, they are completely renovated inside. All of the four hotels offer a good location and service for reasonable prices and are becoming more and more popular every year. Their latest opening is Nevsky 22 Deluxe hotel.
Hotels on Nevsky have 6 to 36 rooms, all newly designed and equipped, with private facilities, shower, satellite TV, direct dial phone, safe and air-conditioning in most of the rooms. Some hotels have Internet broadband cable in the rooms. In all four hotels Internet is available at reception. All hotels come with a kitchen-café where continental breakfast is served. A sauna is also available and some rooms are even equipped with a Jacuzzi. Some of the hotels are situated on second or third floors of the buildings and do not have elevators.

RINALDI B&B Hotels chain *** ST.PETERSBURG
This is another chain of B&B mini-hotels offering 10 hotels in the city. Differing from the Hotels on Nevsky chain, Rinaldi does not only offer accommodation in the very centre of the city, which might be convenient for people coming on business. The kitchen-café can be used not only for the continental breakfasts offered in the mornings, but guests can always make some food themselves or have meetings there. At the moment there are Rinaldi hotels on Petrogradskaya storona, Vassilievsky Ostrov, Admiralteisky Rayon and on Nevsky prospect as well as others nearby. The hotels are divided into 3 categories: Home, Optimum and Premium, and prices slightly differ, but all are quite reasonable for the service offered.
All rooms at the Rinaldi Hotels are of the similar standard and design and equipped with everything necessary for the modern traveller. Housed in historical buildings, all hotels have undergone complete renovation and offer modern comfort. Each room has private facilities, shower tub, satellite TV, direct dial telephone with Internet access (dial-up). The hotel on Nevsky 103 has central air-conditioning in the rooms. Safety boxes are available at reception. More hotels are opening to enlarge the Rinaldi B&B mini-hotel chain.

The Accor Company has built two hotels in Moscow. The Novotel Moscow Centre is located in the historical part of Moscow, near two metro stations and only about 3 km from the Kremlin. Taking Novoslobodskaya metro one may get to Krasnaya Ploschad (the Red Square) in 10 minutes without changing. The hotel is known for the modern comfort, contemporary decor and unique architecture.

This hotel is located almost in the very heart of Moscow, nearby the well-known central public garden, Chistiye Prudi (Clear ponds). This is another newly opened small hotel which offers good accommodation and homelike atmosphere. The hotel’s interior is designed in Russian folklore style following the popular Russian story Alenkiy Tsvetochek (a Scarlet Flower). Bright colours, oak carvings, hand-made mouldings, wall paintings, and a cosy winter garden really make a special atmosphere of the Russian fairy tale. At the same time the rooms’ amenities are modern and convenient.
There is a nice Lobby bar and Russian restaurant also designed in folklore style. Underground parking is another advantage for guests. MARCO POLO PRESNJA Hotel **** MOSCOW
This small 4-star hotel is located in the quiet area of the Patriarchy Ponds in the heart of Moscow. Built in 1904 by English architect Villiam Vallcott, it has welcomed many famous people since then. The hotel later became «a house for the elite» and was closed to the public. Before the revolution the building served for London's governesses and then for professors staff of Moscow State University who stayed and worked here. After the WWII it became a prestigious closed hotel for members of the Soviet Government. It was only renovated in the 1990's and became one of the finest hotels in Moscow.
The 72 suites and rooms are tastefully decorated with attention to every detail. All rooms are light and comfortable. In every room there is satellite television and movie channels, direct dial phone, individually-controlled heating and air-conditioning system, private bathroom, including shower, hairdryer and cosmetic mirror, minibar, WiFi Internet.  The Marco Polo hotel also features a restaurant, bars, conference halls for up to 200 people, well-equipped business centre, laundry, small souvenir shop and 24-hour security.

TOURIST HOTEL COMPLEX IZMAILOVO  
( GAMMA-DELTA Hotel ) *** 		MOSCOW
This huge complex of two 30-storey buildings makes up part of Europe’s largest hotel compound Izmailovo, which has been included in the Guinness Book of Records. It was built specially for the guests of the Olympic Games held in Moscow in 1980. The hotel overlooks the old Izmailovsky Park with nice Russian-styled wooden houses from the times of Peter I, and one of the best souvenir and crafts centre in Moscow. It takes only 20 minutes by the nearby metro to get to the Red Square (Krasnaya Ploschad) and Kremlin. At the same time there is everything either at the Gamma-Delta Hotel itself, or in the neighbouring hotel buildings: casinos, night clubs, various restaurants and cafés, Internet-cafés, a bowling club and billiard, fitness and health centres as well as all kinds of shops, exchange centres and banks.
Most of the 1800 rooms are quite modest, those without renovation are less comfortable but the prices offered are very reasonable for Moscow. Due to its good combination of price, location and service offered, Izmailovo Gamma-Delta hotel is always busy and popular both among Russians and foreign guests. Every room has a private bathroom, writing desk, armchair, fridge, satellite TV and direct-dial phone. Internet can be accessed 24 hours at the Internet café downstairs. Safety boxes are also available at reception. Rooms from the 6-7 floors and higher have views on the neighbouring park and the city. Corporate travellers may make use of the several conference halls at the hotel.
