День города Санкт-Петербурга (Saint Petersburg foundation festival)

On May 27th every year the foundation festival takes place. This is a little atypical, since it consists not only in fireworks or parades, same as many other celebrations of this sort. In fact, it features a lot of events scattered all over the city. Since they’re too many, I suggest who want more detailed information click the link above which redirects to the complete program. But be careful, many other events will be held between the 25th and the 26th, so go check when will exactly be the ones you want to take part to.

Усадьба Jazz

This festival will be held on the Yelagin Island on June 22nd and 23rd. It is one of the major festivals in Saint Petersburg and gathers jazz, blues and soul music enthusiasts since 2013. What’s more, for its 5th edition the event features an absolutely impressive line-up jammed with world-famous names from all over the world. So, if you’re fond of this genres, I warmly invite you to go check details on their website via the link above.

Stereoleto

One of the best-known festivals in Saint Petersburg will take place July 6th/7th at Sevkabel port on Vasilevsky island. I’m glad to introduce you to Stereoleto, where Russian artists of different genres will come together for a 2-day absolute blast. The festival will feature 5 stages playing very diverse music. On top of that, you’ll find a wide variety of artworks made by upcoming Russian designers dotted all over the place.

Geek Picnic

This is, in my opinion, the most interesting, forward-looking, and captivating among festivals in Saint Petersburg. Geek-Picnic is to be held between July 6th and 7th in Primorsky Park Pobedi on Krestovsky Island and will be organised as follows:

  • Campus: Here’s where the magic happens. In this area you can find different science-based activities and lectures or even stands and exhibitions
  • Picnic: This is the “party area” divided into four different sections ranging from Cosplay to party by way of an open-air movie theatre and a chillout reading zone
  • Geek kids: Is basically a kid-friendly area, thought for the entertainment of youger visitors that will come with their families

VK Fest

This undoubtably is one of the most jammed festivals in Saint Petersburg. Organised by the telecom giant VK, which nowadays counts more than 400 million users, this festival is one of its kind. In fact, the access is granted to VK users only, so that people can broaden their network while enjoying some good music of various genres. BTW, the event will be held on July 20th-21st in Park 300-Letiya on Primorskiy Prospekt, 74.

Ok, now, I feel like saying that we’re pretty much finished with summer festivals in Saint Petersburg , the sizzling ones at least. As you’ve read, there’s a lot going on in the next three months, so I hope some of the events I mentioned will be source of inspiration for you, when planning your nights out.
